Our Vision
Teaching the Professionals of tomorrow
Building on the foundation of basic skills, our program focuses on encouraging gross motor movements such as jumping, standing on one foot, using utensils, and engaging in play with blocks and balls. We also prioritize teaching toddlers how to care for themselves, including potty-training and learning to play and interact with others. Through our comprehensive approach, we aim to build upon basic words, helping children identify objects and progress towards speaking in sentences. Additionally, we foster social skills by encouraging play with peers, initiating interactions, and teaching important manners like saying “please” and “thank you.” Join us as we guide your child’s growth and development in a fun and nurturing environment.
Preschool is a magical time filled with endless discovery and growth. At our center, children embark on a journey of learning to draw basic shapes, developing large motor skills through balance and running, and delighting in riding trikes. Our dedicated teachers create a nurturing environment where personal information, number concepts, colors, shapes, and the alphabet come to life. As children immerse themselves in hands-on activities, they eagerly identify objects by name, understand their uses, and follow multistep directions using sentences of three or more words. We cherish the value of social interactions, encouraging our little ones to share, care for others’ emotional needs, and form lasting connections with their peers. Our Director
“Growing up at ABC Preschool, because my mother is the founder, I learned at a very early age that I have a gift as an educator. After raising my own family, I returned to Decatur to help my mother with her business. I went back to school at Richland Community College then completed a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at Kendall College, with a concentration in Infant and Toddler development. After working here for over 25 years in all classrooms and as the director, I feel my job is to help as many families as possible obtain quality early childhood education. I strive to continue the vision my mother intended for all children.”
